Although my GPA score was below the required average, it is evident that I have maintained a steady improvement over time as can be seen from my previous grades. This improvement is a clear indication that I am going to improve my performance as I proceed with my studies. My improvement is due to increased effort and dedication of more time in studying, and I promise to put more effort. Moreover, I have demonstrated a remarkable improvement in several comparative skills set which are usually assessed by the GPA test. For instance, to improve my critical analysis skills, I have been studying an important book on the same. Critical thinking skills: Developing effective analysis and argument (Palgrave study skills) has been guiding me on step-by-step practical lessons on developing and practic ing critical thinking (Cottrell, 2011). I believe that studying this and other books which explain this skill will equip me to perform better in my studies. Not only have I been working hard towards improving my critical analysis skills but also I have been directing my efforts towards honing my skills on complex problem solving, creativity, active listening and coordinating with others. To acquire the requisite listening skill which is necessary to success, I have been studying relevant listening-building books (Housel, 2004). According to Anhalt (2003), a successful study skills program can help a student become more consistent, manage time well and be more organized. I accept that I have not been perfect in these competencies in the past, but I am confident that there will be a remarkable improvement on this, and my grades will correspondingly become better. I have ten years experience in the field which shows that I can work well, and I know how to apply the knowledge I learn. I n these ten years, I have been able to solve many problems where I have been able to use the knowledge that I have learned from college.
